Our ultimate goal is to showcase the most exceptional eaux de vies and express all the elegance and power of ancestral Armagnac, as well as French Artisan Expertise, Authenticity and Heritage.
The taste of Armagnac 700 is made distinctive by the minerality and powerful aromas of the very old eaux-de-vie drawn from the clay limestone terroir of the “Triangle d’Or”, the best area of Bas-Armagnac.
The first records of the Castelbajac family date back to 980. For centuries, they were in charge of Bigorre, the south eastern part of Gascony. To satisfy the thirst of their armies, and for their own pleasure, fine Armagnac was made from the grapes that grew abundantly on their estate.
Sourced from the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, our grapes benefit from the unique clay-sand soil of the area. The vines dig their roots deep into this soil, nourishing themselves with the essential elements necessary to the composition of an exceptional Armagnac
Headquarter and home to Armagnac Ortolan and 700, the Chateau de Loubersan has been the Castelbajac fiefdom since the 13th century. Since the combination of soil and climate is exceptional there, we plan on planting vineyards around the chateau. We would reclaim our history while securing a part of our supply and increasing the sustainability of our business model.
The production of Armagnac 700 is optimally located
in the Bas-Armagnac region. Clay and Limestone soil combined with a perfect climate cooled by the nearby Pyrenees create optimal conditions and location in order
to provide a perfect guarantee for the production of high-quality Armagnac
In YELLOW: Castelbajac family land for hundreds of years.
in RED: AOC Armagnac as of 1936.
First records of the Castelbajac as lords of the Bigorre region. They have been guarding the rich and hearty soil of Gascony for centuries. The region was already producing wines…
First mention of Armagnac in an official record. Kept in the Vatican’s archives and written in Latin by Master Vital Dufour, the manuscript “The book on how to keep healthy and remain in good form” presents Armagnac and its (alleged!) 40 virtues : preserving youth, retarding senility..
First codification of the AOC Armagnac (Appelation of Controled Origin). By publishing a set of rules and regulations, the producers of the area decide to agree on standards to ensure a constant quality and bolster the reputation of Armagnac.
Jean-Charles, Louis-Marie’s father, buys back the Chateau de Loubersan, nowadays headquarter and home to Armagnac 700. The Castelbajac Family is back in their ancestral house.
Louis-Marie creates the first prototypes of 700. Combining his ventures in the fashion industry with the deep family history in Armagnac, 700 is designed as a one of a kind project, sold only to selected lucky few…
Second release of 700.
With a revamped label and package the second bottling of 700 is selected by Lafayette Gourmet and Colette (the legendary Parisian concept store) for a signed and numbereed limited edition .
First bottles sold abroad. Introduced to 700 at a private dinner in Bordeaux, a prospect requested a sample… and ordered a few bottles to try on his market, Mainland China. It’s been a strong partnership and friendship ever since!
Our first collaboration. Following a limited edition with Colette and our Chinese partner, we worked with another luxury product, for a (very) limited and exclusive release 80 years old blend, with a Swarovski jewels decorated label..
Over 5 000 bottles sold in Mainland China, and over 500 stores referencing our products. Growing steadily, our distribution and volumes are reaching significant heights in China, becoming our first market
A new packaging is coming, stay tuned…

Our bottles are presented with a bespoke felt label, coming from a small French producer. Each label is laser cut, with an embossed leather patch and a fabric French Flag insert, the whole label is then hand sewn and positioned carefully on the bottle. We finally wrap each bottle in silk paper to protect the numerous hours of work required to craft this exclusive spirit.
